The Art Nook

Hi there! I'm Megan, the Chief Messmaker of The Art Nook. I'm so glad you've stopped by, and I'm excited to share a little bit about myself and the inspiration behind this magical space.

Ever since I was a child, I've been captivated by the power of art to ignite joy, curiosity, and self-expression. I was always wanting to craft and make things for my mom and dad and found that I was very creative with problem solving, crafting, building, engineering, and art in general – an “out-of-the-box-thinker” if you will. That love for creativity and self-expression has followed me throughout life, and it's what inspired me to open The Art Nook. 

After dedicating most of my career to the legal field, I envisioned my ‘second’ career path as teaching paralegal studies to college students. I found myself drawn to the world of education, and through a series of serendipitous events, hard work, and a dash of luck, I am now fortunate to be thriving as a teacher, igniting the passion for art in students ranging from TK to 8th grade. It's been an unexpected journey, but one that fills my heart with joy every single day. Teaching is what I am meant to do.

My Mission is to kindle the spark of creativity within every child, fostering a lifelong passion for artistic expression. I believe in providing a nurturing environment where young minds can explore, learn, and flourish through the transformative power of art. My commitment is to instill confidence, inspire imagination, and cultivate a sense of joy in each child's artistic journey. Through art education and a vibrant community, I aspire to be a guiding brushstroke in shaping the next generation of confident, creative, and compassionate individuals.  When you step into my studio, you're not just walking into a space filled with paint and brushes. This space celebrates every child’s imagination and creativity- where we will problem solve and give our best, turning ‘mistakes’ into happy accidents and beautiful art. I am passionate about cultivating a supportive and inclusive space where every child feels empowered to explore, experiment, and embrace their unique artistic voice. 

I'm incredibly grateful to be on this journey with you and your family. Seeing the smiles on the kids' faces as they proudly show off their masterpieces—that's what it's all about.
